This is an exceptional variety of amethyst which has a very classic rare formation with long thick amethyst points rarely found in amethyst clusters. Amethysts of this formation can only be found in a few places across the world, including bolivia, and this new find in Zambia where this specimen was found. This specimen has a much better lustre than most spceimens found at this locality, and there is also a reddish hue of red hematite included in the tips of the amethyst.
